Hideo Itami Pays Tribute to Japanese Legend (Photo), WWE’s Greatest Announcer Calls (Video)

WWE has had some pretty shocking moments throughout the years and WWE announcers have been there to make the calls. Moments such as “The Heist of the Century” when Seth Rollins stole the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, to the debut of Kane at the first Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.

Some of the best calls are seen in the video above, many of which have created the very fabrics of wrestling history, and the video is capped off by a moment that is almost exactly 20 years in the making.

Hideo Itami Pays Tribute

As noted, WWE and NXT had live shows in Tokyo, Japan, and Hideo Itami was a part of the show.

At the show Itami sat cross legged in the middle of the ring, to pay tribute to NJPW Star Katsuyori Shibata who also does that pose. The two were once partners in Pro Wrestling NOAH, and Itami was met with a big “Shibata” chant from the Tokyo audience.

WWE recently came to an agreement with NOAH to share Itami, and Itami worked for the company for 13 years as KENTA, achieving grand success within the company.
