Backstage Update On Why The Authors of Pain & SAnitY Are Being Kept Off WWE TV

Two noticeably absent WWE main roster tag teams are The Authors of Pain and SAnitY. Both teams were called up to the main roster after WrestleMania, with The AOP debuting on the Raw brand the night after the PPV, and SAnitY having yet to debut on TV after being announced for the Smackdown brand in the Superstar Shakeup.

According to F4WOnline.com, there are several reasons why the two teams are not currently being used on WWE TV, and they are as follows:

-Dave Meltzer noted in the most recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a Visa issue had kept the Authors of Pain from traveling, however that has since been cleared up. WWE is now keeping the team off TV because they are focusing on developing The B-Team and Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, and don’t want AOP to fall by the wayside like teams such as Slater and Rhyno and The Ascension.

-Bryan Alvarez added on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live that both AOP and SAnitY were called up to the main roster because initial plans in WWE called for a third, tag team Money in the Bank ladder match at this year’s Money in the Bank PPV. WWE even aired promo videos featuring tag teams hyping Money in the Bank, but when the company decided not to book the third ladder match, the promos ceased, and teams such as AOP and SAnitY were not used on TV.
