Speaking in an interview with Ouest-France, Nantes captain and midfielder Valentin Rongier followed up a recent appearance on Canal Football Club by reiterating his desire to leave the club this summer.
“I feel very good here. The club gave me everything. I arrived as a youngster and now I am the captain of the 1st team. It is a great story. I say that with complete humility. I need a new challenge, not only in football. I came to Nantes in August 2000, I have been here for 19 years. For my personal satisfaction, I need another challenge, why not abroad. Last season, it was still too early. And I do not mean that in terms of the captaincy. I have come to an age where a bit of maturity allows me to reason this way.”
