PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique’s position makes an Arsène Wenger arrival difficult

French outlet Paris United are reporting that former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger remains interested in joining PSG in a board level capacity, but that the club’s current Sporting Director, Antero Henrique, is principally opposed to the move.

Wenger has this month been in Qatar again to meet with PSG owner Sheikh Al Thani – the outlet claims that Henrique’s departure would be a condition on the 69-year-old’s arrival though.

The Qatari representatives are even ready to offer Wenger a position that is hierarchically superior to the Portuguese deal-broker, but the Frenchman does not want to enter a club where conflict arises over his arrival. Thomas Tuchel is for Wenger’s arrival and speaks to him regularly, with the German having a bad relationship with Henrique at present.

Wenger currently has interest from a number of clubs, including in the States and AC Milan, but also about the possibility of taking a role at FIFA.

Paris United claim that Wenger has even received a proposal from Bayern Munich, for a board level role.

With Wenger intending to start his new job in two months time, the clock is ticking for PSG.
