Hollywood continues to show its unwavering support in the aftermath of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting that tragically killed 49 people on June 12. This past Friday night, Lance Bass hosted the onePulse Foundation’s benefit organized to honor the victims and their families.
The star-studded event, attended by celebrities like Caitlyn Jenner, Will.i.am., and JC Chasez, also served to show support to others in the LGBT community affected by the attack. Bass and actor Matt Bomer vocalized their awareness of the fear that was instilled and how we must combat it, expressing their support to the broader community. Bomer told E! News that, “in the face of horrible tragedy there is love and there is support.” He continued, saying, “people in all communities, Hollywood and all over the country, it doesn’t matter if you’re an actor or a celebrity or whatever—we care and we support you.”

Bass echoed similar sentiments, telling E! News, “Most of us, you know, were raised where we were hiding ourselves.” In describing the victims, he goes on to say, “For the first time, a lot of those kids were in that club being themselves and not being afraid, and when something like this happens, again, fear is instilled in that community and we want to show them that we can’t be afraid.”
