Incumbent Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is all set to retain power in the state for another term. Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has crossed the 100-seat mark in Odisha, leading in 112 out of the 146 seats. BJP is ahead in 21 seats. Congress bagged 11 while the CPI(M) and JMM managed to bag one seat each.

With this, Patnaik will become the Chief Minister for the fifth time, something that has been achieved by two others in the history of India – Jyoti Basu of West Bengal who was in office for 23 years and incumbent Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling, who is in his fifth term in office.
