Russian Space Ship Reaches Space Station In 3 Hrs 21 Mins, Beats Previous Record By 19 Minutes

In a new development, an unmanned Russian spacecraft carrying three tons of cargo set a new record of completing the trip to the International Space Station. The spacecraft docked the orbiting outpost in three hours and twenty-one minutes.

The freighter blasted off Thursday from the launch facility located in Baikonur, Kazakhstan and after two orbits docked at the station. It beat the previous record set by another progress ship in July last year by 19 minutes, the Russian space agency Rascosmos says.
