WWE returns to the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas for the Friday, January 24th episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, which serves as the blue brand “go-home show” for this Sunday night’s WWE Royal Rumble 2020 pay-per-view.

6 Man Tag-Team Match
The Usos & Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin, Robert Roode, & Dolph ZigglerOut first starting off tonight’s six man tag-team match, Jimmy and Jey Uso’s music sounds over the speakers in the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Both Usos make their way down the ramp and enter the ring. Out next is Roman Reigns as his music sounds and he makes his way towards the ring to join the Usos.
A clip of last Friday’s announcement of “Falls Count Anywhere” match made by Roman Reigns on SmackDown is shown as Roman Reigns makes his way into the ring with Jimmy and Jey Uso. Next to make his way to the ring is King Corbin as he is carried down the ramp and towards the ring on his thrown, Reigns and the Uso brothers staring him down shoulder to shoulder inside the ring as King Corbin enters the ring with Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler by his side.
Ziggler refusing to take his eyes off of King Corbin. The bell rings and the match begins. Dolph Ziggler starting the match off with Jimmy Uso. Jimmy tags in Jey and they double team Ziggler and an early two count. Roode tags in. Roode twisting the arm of Roode, Roode counters with a knee to the midsection of Uso. Big right hand followed by a Chop driving Roode to the center of the ring. Jimmy Uso is thrown over the corner rope, where he possibly over extends his knee, Ziggler drives Uso into the stairs as the officials tell everyone to back off, a possible knee injury after landing awkwardly.
Jey tells the officials to “check his head!” as Jimmy Uso is lifted back to his feet and assisted out of the ring area as we go to commercial.
We come back from commercial where the match is announced to now be a two on three handicap match as Jimmy Uso was taken back to the locker room, a replay is shown. Jey is in the ring with Ziggler, Jey gets a quick two count pin attempt on Ziggler. Ziggler tags in King Corbin. Reigns immediately perks up, eyes not leaving Corbin. Corbin slides under the bottom rope and runs into an elbow by Jey. Jey flies, nobody home. Corbin hits a Deep Six, gets the cover, Jey kicks out at two. Reigns looking ready to assist. Corbin lifts Jey back to his feet.
Roode tags in. Jey fighting off Roode, attempting a kick, hitting a chop, then follows through with a kick. Roode is down, Jey finally able to reach for a tag to Roman Reigns. As Jey jumps for the tag, King Corbin pulls Reigns off the apron, blocking the tag. Corbin attacking Reigns on the outside, throwing Reigns into the barricade as we go to commercial.
A recap is shown as we come back from commercial. Corbin quickly tags himself out of the match, leaving Dolph Ziggler to enter the match with Roman Reigns who is hyped and ready to attack. Reigns with nine massive blows to the head of Ziggler as the crowd counts along, finally a boot to the head of Ziggler. Reigns locked and loaded, ready… a sucker kick by Ziggler following Corbin grabbing Reigns by the hair and pulling him backwards in the ring as Ziggler keeps the referee’s attention.
Ziggler throws Reigns through the middle ropes where Roode and Corbin begin stomping Reigns on the outside of the ring as Ziggler once again keeps the attention of the referee inside of the ring. Ziggler yells, “You don’t give up? You never give up? Let’s see how good you are!” as he throws Reigns back in the ring. Ziggler with an elbow to the heart and a cover. Once again Reigns kicks out. Ziggler tags in King Corbin who throws a kick to the mid section of Reigns. A knee to the midsection follows, finally a big hand by the big dog. Corbin with multiple blows to the jaw of Reigns.
Roode tags in, outstretching his hands looking for the Glorious DDT, Reigns plants Roode in the center of the ring. Reigns looks to have exhausted all of his energy on that Power Bomb by Reigns. Reigns reaches to tag Jey Uso, Ziggler cuts in and pulls Jey off the apron, throwing Jey into the barricade. Ziggler then running with Jey and throwing him over the announcer’s table. Corbin continues dominating Reigns inside the ring, Ziggler tags in with a big smile on his face.
Neck Breaker by Ziggler and hooks the inside leg, Reigns kicks out at two. Ziggler gets to his knees, Reigns looking spent inside the ring. Ziggler hyping up, tuning up the band, mocking Reigns with foot stomps, Superman Punch by Reigns for the block. Nobody for Reigns to tag in…
Jimmy Uso comes hopping and limping down the ramp out of nowhere. Jimmy with a Samoa Drop on Roode. Jimmy with a blow to the head of Corbin followed by Jimmy flying through the ropes spearing Corbin into the announcer’s table. Jimmy Uso a one man wrecking crew!! A right hand to Ziggler as he goes up top for a Cross Body on Roode, King Corbin jumps in and stops the pin just in time.
Corbin looking for End of Days on Jimmy, Roman Reigns comes out of nowhere with another Superman Punch. Corbin jumps to the outside of the ring, Reigns follows Corbin around the ring, over the barricade, and through the crowd. Reigns continues dominating Corbin who continues to run away.
Back in the ring, Jimmy Uso making his way to the top rope, Ziggler tries to pull Jimmy down, Jey comes in and counters Ziggler’s attempt. Jimmy flying, an Uso Splash on Roode for the win!

Announcer’s Table
Cory Graves and Michael Cole comment on Kane from last Friday where he spoke to The Fiend who tried to retreat as Daniel Bryan pulled one of his dreadlocks. The Fiend and Daniel Bryan will sign the contract for the strap match at the Royal Rumble.
Graves mentions that Cole gets to speak to Lacey Evans prior to her championship match at the Royal Rumble as we go to commercial.

Lacey Evans Interview
Lacey Evans is announced to the stage by as the Southern Belle makes her way out. Evans said she learned early on to not be intimidated by bullies. “I didn’t have the easiest upbringing growing up. My father suffered with addiction and depression which is something I deal with every day.” “It does not matter what cards you are dealt in life, that you can stack that deck and you can play whatever game you set your mind to. And I’m not done.” Evans goes on to say that there’s nothing you can’t accomplish if you set your mind to it.
Evans is asked about Bayley and Sasha, and what type of leader Evans wants to be. Evans says she wants to inspire people and it doesn’t matter where you come from as long as you use this platform to be the champion her daughter and the fans need through a tearful explanation. Lacey’s daughter Summer is confronted by Sasha during a match. Lacey says she was proud that her daughter was brave, but seeing her cry backstage and asking questions about why the two bullies stood between the mother and daughter, and as Lacey says she’s already shown Sasha, and this weekend she will get Bayley…
Lacey is interrupted as Bayley attacks from behind while yelling, “Where’s your daughter now?” before being pulled away by officials.
Carmella and Dana Brook speak on this Sunday’s Royal Rumble with Kayla. Carmella brags about her winning and becoming champion. Dana interrupts saying everyone has seen Carmella’s Wikipedia page, but friends or not, it’s every woman for herself and she plans to bring it at the Royal Rumble. Lacey and Bayley are seen in the background continuing their brawl that has now made it’s way from the stage in the arena to the backstage area where the interview is taking place, as we go to commercial.
Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose
Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross make their way out to the stage and head down the ramp together as a clip is shown from last week’s SmackDown match. Bliss and Cross stand in the center of the ring watching as Fire and Desire tag team members Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose make their way down the ramp towards the ring where Bliss and Cross are awaiting the match up. A clip is shown where an apology for asking Otis to be there for the match as it’s Fire and Desire, not Fire, Desire, and Otis. Sonya and Mandy stand arm in arm smiling and leaning on the ropes as we come back into the ring. The bell rings and the match begins. Sonya and as Lacey Evans and Bayley come running into the ring and an all out brawl ensues. The bell rings for DQ as the women continue to attack one another, seemingly a preview of Sunday’s PPV as we go to commercial.
In Ring
Elias standing in the center of the ring with the lights dimmed. Elias asks, “Who wants to walk with Elias?” as the crowd cheers. Elias continues by saying he has written a song called, “Texas Dream” and Elias sings adding he’s welcoming the “Monster Among Men” to the ring as Braun Strowman’s music sounds in the arena and Strowman makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring alongside Elias. Elias says, “On Sunday, it’s every man for himself. I thought for tonight, as a special treat, me and you would do a duet. I mean, Dallas, TX would you like to see Braun Strowman sing with Elias?”
The crowd begins chanting, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” Elias says he isn’t one to disappoint the people, how about him? Strowman takes the mic, “What do you say, Dallas?” as Strowman clears his throat and Elias begins playing the guitar. The crowd claps along. As Strowman hits the first note, he’s interrupted by Cesaro’s music sounding in the arena. Cesaro is seen standing at the top of the ramp, Shinsuke Nakamura by his side, and Sami Zayn following closely behind. The three make their way down the ramp and enter the ring.
Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Braun Strowman & Elias
Elias and Cesaro start the bout off. Elias with a blow to the head of Cesaro as Elias climbs to the top turnbuckle then begins walking along the top rope, jumping and taking out Cesaro with Double Knees. Elias continues taking it to Cesaro. Nakamura with a kick to the side of the face of Elias, Strowman comes running around the ring with a shoulder tackle on Nakamura as we go to commercial.
As we come back from the commercial Elias is trying his best to make his way to his corner to make the tag to Braun Strowman, Cesaro keeping Elias as far from his side as possible. Nakamura tags in. Strowman is driven off the apron as a Double Kick to the chest of Strowman. Nakamura sets up for a move as Elias hits a Flying Kick, Sami Zayn running around the ring. Elias finally reaches Strowman for the tag. Strowman comes in fast and strong.
Strowman throws Nakamura across the ring followed by a Splash in the corner. Strowman with a massive chop to the chest of Nakamura driving the air out of his lungs. Strowman is down to one knee, Nakamura tags in Cesaro. Double Russian Leg Sweep followed by a Running Knee on Strowman. Cesaro refusing to give up, attempts another pin. Sami Zayn distracts the officials. Nakamura is blocked by Elias. A Running Power Slam by Strowman, Elias is tagged in with a Flying Elbow and a cover on Cesaro for the win.

Daniel Bryan’s interview from last week’s SmackDown where he says he will challenge The Fiend is played. The contract signing is once again mentioned.
Backstage
Big E is seen being oiled backstage by someone as Kingston walks into the frame. Big E makes some joke about staying oiled up and using that as an advantage in the Royal Rumble Match. Both men get hyped up as we go to commercial.
Backstage
As we come back from commercial, a video package replay of the match between The Usos & Roman Reigns and Robert Roode, King Corbin, & Dolph Ziggler.
King Corbin is stopped backstage where he says he will embarass Roman Reigns and beat him so bad that handcuffs and dog food will seem like child’s play. Corbin continues that Reigns won’t make it to the Royal Rumble, and Corbin will be crowned at Wrestlemania as the new Universal Champion, then Corbin walks off.

Royal Rumble “All about the numbers” video package begins. The winner of the Royal Rumble has to outlast 29 other superstars. The Royal Rumble debuted in 1988. 1070 competitors have entered the Royal Rumble. If you combined all of those competitors heights, that would be 6,596 feet of competitors (over 6 Eiffel Towers). The longest time spent in a single Royal Rumble match goes to Daniel Bryan who spent 1 hour, 16 minutes and 6 seconds, and for females, Natalya spent 56 minutes and one second. Minute Maid Park in Houston holds the 33rd Annual Royal Rumble where 35,000 members of the WWE Universe will be watching. Brock Lesnar enters the Rumble 1st. Stone Cold is a three time winner of the Royal Rumble. Kofi Kingston vs. John Morrison
We re-enter the arena. Where The New Day’s music sounds and Kofi Kingston makes his way to the ring alongside Big E as we go to commercial.
(As we come back from commercial, Sheamus is seen in an all black room saying three weeks ago he went after the loudest squeaking rat, Shorty G. A clip from last Friday’s Smackdown is shown. Sheamus says this Sunday at the Royal Rumble he will finish what he started, and like a rat out of hell, he’ll be gone before the morning comes.)
We re-enter the ring where Kofi Kingston is waiting inside the ring. John Morrison’s music sounds as Morrison makes his way onto the stage wearing a trench coat and sunglasses. Everything is momentarily in slow motion. A mic in hand, The Miz says the crowd booed instead of cheering Morrison’s return. The Miz plugs his reality show, then says he and John Morrison are officially entering the Royal Rumble as they make their way down the ramp and Morrison enters the ring with Kingston.
The bell rings and the match begins. Kingston and Morrison lock up early on. Kingston shoves Morrison, Kingston attempts a Roundhouse Kick, Morrison ducks under and counters. Morrison Shoulder Shoves Kingston into the corner. Back and forth between both men as Morrison is thrown over the top rope. Kingston then flies and lands on Morrison on the outside of the ring. We go to commercial. Updates to come momentarily.
As we come back from commercial, Kingston lands a kick from the outside of the ring to the nose on Morrison inside the ring. Morrison delivers a big knee to the face of Kingston. The crowd begins chanting, “You cannot. You cannot.” Morrison catches Kingston in the chest with another big kick, knocking the wind out of Kingston. Kingston gets to the top rope and lands a move on Morrison and a quick pin attempt, Morrison kicks out.
Morrison laying on the mat, Kingston with a Boom Drop onto the chest of Morrison as the crowd cheers Kingston on and once again begin to chant, “You Cannot, You Cannot”. Morrison with a massive kick out of nowhere as Kingston goes for Trouble in Paradise. Morrison gains the upper hand in the second part of this match, carrying Kingston to the corner and setting him on the top turnbuckle. A thumb to the eye of Kingston by Morrison. Miz looking on in disbelief as Morrison is still unable to get the three count on Kingston.
Morrison lifts Kingston back to his feet, Kingston delivers the SOS and a near fall, Morrison kicks out. Both men try to catch their breath in the center of the ring. Morrison using the second rope for leverage as he tries to get the pin on Kingston, Big E knocks Morrison’s feet off the rope. Miz blindsides Big E, Big E takes off after The Miz, Kingston lands a hit on Miz dropping him to the outside. “Star-ship Pain” inside the ring on Kingston for the three count pin and win.
Winner: John Morrison

A replay is shown as The Miz and John Morrison celebrate on the outside of the ring.
Backstage
Daniel Bryan is seen walking backstage with a look of intent on his face as the signing of the contract is announced to be coming up next, we go to commercial.
In-Ring
Daniel Bryan is announced first as “the challenger” of the Strap Match as his music sounds in the arena and Bryan makes his way down the ramp pumping his fists shouting, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” along with the crowd. Bryan enters the ring and walks over to the table and chairs set up in the ring. Next Bray Wyatt is announced, the Firefly Fun House video shows up on the jumbo tron. Bray apologizes to Wyatt saying he can’t get the fax machine to work. Silly sound affects play as he crumbles the paper. Wyatt asks Bryan why he would ever want to tie himself to The Fiend.
Bryan says he knows Wyatt is sick and tells Wyatt to come out and sign the contract. Wyatt’s voice changes momentarily to a deeper voice and then bounces back. Bryan again tells Wyatt that all he does is run. Wyatt says, “Did you just say, mistake? Yowie Wowie, ‘mistake’ is the word of the day!” Wyatt says Bryan betrayed him and that Bryan is a liar. Wyatt says, Bryan won’t be fighting him this weekend, so it’s only fitting that “He” sign the contract.
The arena goes black. Red lights show through, Bryan goes after The Fiend. The Fiend with the Mandible Claw attacks Daniel Bryan, ripping his shirt off then taking the strap and begins whipping Bryan with it over and over on his back. The Fiend looks to be enjoying himself as Bryan lays helpless and in pain on the mat inside the ring. The Fiend walks over to the table calmly and signs the contract, rubbing his blood all over the contract. The crowd begins chanting, “You’ve got issues… You’ve got issues…” as The Fiend raises his hands welcoming the chant.
The arena goes black once again. The lights come back on and Bryan is seen attempting to get up where he has whip marks all over his back. The contract is seen sitting in front of Bryan, signed in The Fiend’s blood. The crowd begins chanting, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” helping Bryan to his feet as the show ends.
