Survivor Series it getting closer and closer to premiering on the WWE Network, and this year’s show will once again feature a Raw vs. SmackDown format. During Raw last night, it was announced that there will be 5-on-5 elimination matches featuring with one consisting of male competitors and females in the other match. Baron Corbin will be serving as the captain for the Raw brand in the men’s elimination match while Alexa Bliss has been named the captain of Raw women’s team. With most of the men’s team already determined, fans expected WWE to announce some of the members for the SmackDown team during tonight’s edition of the show, but it appears now that both men and women’s teams have been revealed.
Although SmackDown won’t be airing on the USA Network until later tonight, WWE taped tonight’s episode in the United Kingdom earlier today. During the taping, a number of announcements related to Survivor Series were made. The men’s elimination match will see Daniel Bryan and The Miz work as co-captains while they team up with Shane McMahon, Samoa Joe, and Rey Mysterio. Additionally, it was announced that Charlotte Flair will be the captain of the women’s team. She will lead Sonya Deville, Naomi, Asuka, and Carmella during the show. Alexa Bliss is expected to announce each of the participants for her team during Monday Night Raw next week.
The men and women’s teams for Survivor Series are just about set for both WWE brands, but there will also be a tag team elimination match featuring members of both shows as well. No information about possible entries in the Raw team has been revealed as of yet, but during SmackDown’s TV taping in the UK earlier today, fans learned which team will be the captains for the SmackDown team. Former SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos will be the captains for their team, and the brothers have already announced that The New Day will be joining their team. Expect more team member reveals to take place throughout the Raw and SmackDown shows leading up to Survivor Series.
