WWE To Focus On Making SD! Equal To RAW, w/ Major Storylines On Both Shows

Apparently the plan behind-the-scenes in WWE right now is to focus heavily on making SmackDown come off as a show equal to that of Monday’s RAW.

A recent example of this was when the company decided to make the announcement on SmackDown regarding the Team Cena members being fired if their team lost in the Survivor Series main event this past Sunday night.

The idea is to attempt to strengthen the SmackDown brand to the point that the casual audience no longer views RAW as the “A show” and SmackDown as the “B show,” but rather both shows as equal.

WWE is of the belief that when SmackDown changes to Thursday’s in January that the storylines that take place on that show have to be of great importance, as to make SmackDown appear to be a “can’t miss” show, specifically while WWE re-trains their television audience to become accustomed to tuning into SmackDown on the new night.

It’s worth noting, however, that WWE has gone this route many times in the past, and generally speaking, they stick with it at first, but typically lose interest quickly and return back to the old status quo.
