ECW Vs. TNA In December, The Condemned DVD Selling Well

ECW won’t be airing on Sci-Fi on Tuesday December 4th due to a mini-series marathon. Instead, ECW will air that Thursday (the 6th) at 10PM, which is head-to-head with the second hour of TNA iMPACT that night. With both shows’ ratings in the same range lately, don’t be surprised for the two companies to make this particular week’s shows special.

Despite the fact that Stone Cold Steve Austin’s movie The Condemned drew very poorly at the box office, the movie’s DVD rentals will save the project from being a financial failure. Revenues from DVD rentals over the past 5 weeks ($16 million) have more than doubled what the movie did at the box office during its entire run. There is a strong chance that this may affect WWE Films’ strategy for future film production. There has been talk of producing “straight-to-DVD” films.
