This Week’s Smackdown Live Viewership Drops as WWE Clashes w/ Election Night in America

The numbers aren’t great coming out of last week’s WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, as Smackdown Live clashed with election night in the United States.

Smackdown was down only one-percent this Tuesday night to an estimated 2,088,000 viewers, but it will still qualify as the third lowest number of 2018 so far. The main event featured Samoa Joe in action against the “Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy, with an advertised bout between Rey Mysterio and Andrade Cien Almas.

Tuesday’s ratings were completely dominated by the midterm elections in the United States, on both cable and network stations. CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC all covered the election throughout the entire night.
