The Rock Sends a Message to the WWE Universe, Why Wasn’t James Ellsworth on Smackdown 1000?

The Rock Sends WWE a Message

While the great one unfortunately couldn’t appear live to celebrate Smackdown 1000 this Tuesday night, Dwayne Johnson did send a special message via Twitter for the WWE Universe. The Rock is currently busy shooting the Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, while in pre-production for three different films simultaneously, including a sequel to last year’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Huge #SD1000 congrats to my @WWE family!
Fun fact, in 1998, I said to @VinceMcMahon “I’m gonna use the word ‘Smackdown’ tonight in my promo”. He said what’s that mean? I said it means I’m gonna whup some ass. He belly laughed and said say it!
The rest was history! #IfYaSmell 🎤 https://t.co/IVXI0WkkGl

James Ellsworth Backstage at Smackdown 1000

It was reported earlier in the week that James Ellsworth would be in attendance for Smackdown 1000, but the event has now come and gone, and we have yet to see the chinless wonder back on television.

As it turns out, Ellsworth really was backstage for the show, as he is featured in a new video on the WWE YouTube channel, which you can check out below. This was the second time in three days that he has popped up unexpectedly, as he answered the open challenge of Eli Drake this past Sunday at Bound for Glory.
