PSG in advanced talks with Leipzig to sign Nordi Mukiele

L’Équipe report this afternoon that Paris Saint-Germain are in advanced talks with Bundesliga side Leipzig to sign full-back Nordi Mukiele, and have come to an agreement in principle over personal terms with the Frenchman.

The Ligue 1 champions began talks for the French international in the last few days, and have gained ground in the last few hours. The transfer fee will go beyond the €10m mark, with Mukiele’s contract expiring at the end of the season.

The club has previously sent two other offers for the defender, but the difference between the two teams’ valuations is no longer an issue. For sporting advisor Luis Campos, his arrival would benefit the squad through his experience in European competition as well as his versatility as a rotation option both on the flank and in the central roles.

The former Montpellier man has already spoken to Christophe Galtier, who approves of the signing. An agreement has been in place with the 24-year-old for the last few days.

The former Laval man has been with the German side for the last four years, becoming a consistent starter after his arrival from Montpellier after a season and a half with the Hérault club. According to sources contacted by Get French Football News, Mukiele was one of the first players Campos spoke with, even before his arrival at PSG was announced.
