Sevilla set to make an offer for AS Monaco’s Benoît Badiashile

RMC are reporting that Sevilla are advancing on AS Monaco’s French centre-back Benoît Badiashile (21) as a replacement for Diego Carlos (29), who moved to Aston Villa.

According to RMC, Sevilla sporting director Monchi has already had numerous meetings with and the club will soon make the Ligue 1 side an offer. Meanwhile, Juventus are also interested in the Monaco centre-back, who made 24 Ligue 1 appearances for the side in an injury-hit season.

His return from injury did, however, coincide with Monaco rediscovering their form, and he was a pivotal element in the side that secured a place on the Ligue 1 podium.

As well as Sevilla and Juventus, Badiashile, the French U21 international has been linked to Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle by L’Équipe. The latter reportedly made an unsuccessful €40m bid in January.

Having sold Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid for a reported €100m, Monaco won’t necessarily be under any pressure to sell a key element of their back line.
