Julien Stéphan on Lyon interest: “It’s disrespectful to Strasbourg.”

Following news that current Strasbourg manager Julien Stéphan would be Lyon’s primary interest in the wake of a potential departure of Peter Bosz, the 41-year-old spoke to Amazon Prime Video after yesterday’s draw against Troyes.

“If the interest from OL is real? What I can’t grasp is what Lyon want to do in the future. I really don’t get it. But what I do get and what I can say is that, when I read this article, I was shocked that I had given my agreement or any sort of inclination towards it. It’s false. It’s disrespectful to Strasbourg as a club, it’s also disrespectful to the manager who works here. Strasbourg is not just a doormat to be trampled on like that. It’s a wonderful club, a club that has trusted me since the start of the season. My only objective and my only ambition from now until the end of the season in relation to Lyon is to finish above them. That would be an incredible upset.”
