After the arrival of Sergio Ramos this summer, France defender Presnel Kimpembe’s position at PSG is seemingly under threat and, as L’Équipe report, European champions Chelsea may sense an opportunity to tempt the PSG man away.

Any concrete interest remains a long way away however, while an approach for Kimpembe would have to overcome many obstacles according to the sports daily. Firstly, the player’s contract runs for another three years to 2024 and, secondly, Kimpembe remains very attached to his boyhood club where he has become vice-captain and an important dressing room figure.
However, Kimpembe is waiting to see how his status changes in the coming weeks, both in playing time and within the group. Chelsea, meanwhile, have been keeping tabs on the World Cup winner and seeking a way to lure him to London for some time, and this remains the case this summer. Nevertheless, Thomas Tuchel would likely need to sell before being able to pursue his former player.
Even so, as L’Équipe point out, events could yet conspire to breed something of a transfer saga.
