Rennes on Saturday night announced the season-long loan without option to buy signing of 26-year-old Italian central defender Daniele Rugani from Juventus.

SRFC had been after him for several weeks, but only towards the end of the window did he become more open to the move.

Rugani had the following to say upon the announcement:

“I am happy to be at Rennes. I am discovering a nice environment. I am excited to start playing with my new team-mates and to help them as much as possible to have a good season. I am arriving in a major league. The Champions’ League is obviously of a very high level but I think that the club and I will have the opportunity to show good things in this competition. My aim is to have a fresh start.”
