Karim Benzema has agreed to extend his current contract at Real Madrid until 2021, the club confirmed earlier today.
Benzema becomes the third player this week to sign a new deal with Los Blancos, with Dani Carvajal and Isco recently committing their futures to the club respectfully.
The 29-year-old has been with Madrid since 2009 when he joined from Lyon for €35m and has since won 14 trophies during his time with the club, including three UEFA Champions League titles. His previous had been expected to run out in 2019, but the new, improved deal that he has signed today means he will stay with the Spanish Giants until after he turns 33.
The French international forward has scored 181 goals in 371 appearances for Real Madrid and has earned himself a reputation not only as one of the world’s top strikers, but also has one of Florentino Perez’s favourite players at Madrid.
