WATCH: Prepare for swearing and tears as London Irish post emotional video

London Irish have posted an emotional video on social media as they look back on the special comradery between their current and previous squads.

The Exiles were suspended from all RFU leagues on Tuesday afternoon and there has since been shock and sadness at the fate of the entertaining side.

Suspension came after London Irish and its potential buyers were unable to provide reassurances over the financial ability to operate in the league.

10-team Premiership

This means the Premiership is poised to become a 10-team competition after Wasps and Worcester have also been casualties of the financial crisis.

But after the dust has settled, London Irish have today posted an emotional video on their social media pages as they look back on the good times.

Messages also poured in for London Irish from current and past players, as well as pundits and supporters, as they came to terms with the disappointing news.

Club great Topsy Ojo said on Wednesday he had mixed feelings over the suspension, as he was both “gutted” and “angry” about London Irish’s unfortunate plight.

“Gutted. Absolutely gutted,” he said. “Didn’t have the words last night so just spent a while reading everyone else’s messages about their fond memories.

“Angry, but just so sad that such a special club is gone. 125 yrs, should’ve been a year of celebration. And it didn’t have to end this way.

“I’ve had 20 brilliant years at this club. Good times and bad it’s been worth it all,” added the legendary London Irish winger turned pundit.

Proud of his former club

“I wouldn’t be where I am now without it and hope to continue representing the club with pride.

“Love to all the staff, players, coaches, wider family and especially the fans, thinking of you all.”

The club also posted a touching message to their supporters on Thursday evening, thanking them for their “unwavering support” over the years.

Following their suspension from all club competitions, London Irish have since filed for administration as another Premiership giant is on its knees.
