Fashion Night Out: Saks Fifth Avenue Party Central!

Although I’m still recovering, Fashion’s Night Out in New York has to be one of the best parties on the planet! If you haven’t heard of this major event, you are truly missing out. Stores and venues across the city, New York in this instance, celebrate fashion like no other time of the year. This tremendous brainchild of Vogue’s Anna Wintour was an instant and smashing success! Anyone can attend. And there is no other happening where you can witness Coca Rocha posing for the masses, Karolina Kurkova playing game show host, Donna Karen dancing the night away and a host of amazing designers on hand for you to meet and talk about your favorite styles.

All of the major department stores have dozens of activities within. Sak’s, Barney’s, Bergdorf’s, Nordstrom, Henri Bendel all play host to special activities like playing dress up in a designer outfit and walking the red carpet while posing for internationally renowned photographers! It’s dress up time at it’s finest.

At Saks Fifth Avenue, every floor features designers and special activities. On One, you could meet Frederic Fekkai for hair tricks, pick up fragrance samples and have your makeup done by top artist for almost every brand.

On Two, play Bingo with Karolina Kurkova, Donna Karan Chris Benz and Jessica Szohr, and meet Carmen Marc Valvo!

On Three, watch Chrstian Siriano, Zac Posen, Peter Som, Prabal Gurung in a Pictionary fashion sketch-off. Dance with Mark and James of Badgley Mischka, Shoshanna Grauss and Coca Rocha on Four.

On Five, gifts with purchase and prizes were begin given away. Rebecca Minkoff presented a Twitter scavenger hunt contest to search and find her handbags on models throughout the store. The first person to spot it, won one of nine bags! Meet & greets with Aimee Cho of Gryphon, Joy Gryson, Katherine Kwei were fun! While Catherine Ronson was making friendship bracelets with guests!

For shoe lovers, on Eight, a special presentation by Sergio Rossi’s creative director was held while rock vibes were presented by a top DJ. While on Seven, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas was signing JUMP shoes! Simply a whirlwind of activities that could enable you to spend the entire evening at Saks.

I hope you enjoy a few of my pictures even though I’m not the best photographer! I loved the colorful Reed Krakoff wallets, the yummy row of YSL Roady bags and the first look at Reed Krakoff heels. The purple Roady has made my “Lust List”. It comes in a matte and shiny version and I can’t decide which I want most! The Camilla Skovgaard heels actually made it home with me!

Of course I made it to other venues, but Sak’s is where I kicked off my evening! I even managed to snap a few pics of some amazing items and activities. For more information on some of the products, head to Saks Fifth Avenue.
