As you may have already heard, animal prints are in again for Fall 2010. I pointed out in an earlier post (Wild About Animal Prints) that the trend seemed to be leaning more toward gray tones, rather than brown tones. And you know what? I think things are still going in that direction! But with all of these animal prints floating around out there, you would think that I would be getting a little sick of looking (and writing) about them. Well, actually, no. At least not when it comes to an unbelievably gorgeous bag like the one you see pictured here! Yep, Mulberry has jumped on the animal print bandwagon with their Patent Leopard Alexa Bag!
A celebrity favorite, the Mulberry Alexa Bag was named after British style icon Alexa Chung. The bag is a cross between the iconic Bayswater Tote and men’s briefcase, the perfect combination of formal and casual. The bag can be worn either as a crossbody (Ã la Katie Holmes) or a satchel, making it a versatile piece for everyday wear. I love Mulberry’s signature “postman’s” lock closure and braided top handle. The bag is gorgeous in its traditional buffalo leather. But, wow, this new patent leopard version has literally taken my breath away. I love the tone-on-tone leopard pattern on the patent leather background. Normally, I’m not too wild about patent leather. But Mulberry pulled the look off so well, almost effortlessly so. What I like most though is how this bag is dressy enough for night, but low-key enough for day. If you’re looking to get an animal print bag this season, I would definitely recommend this lovely piece!
