Copenhagen Fashion Fairs introduces Terminal-2

Terminal-2 gets its own press show – styled by award-winning stylist Simon Rasmussen – while the CPH Vision Press Show teams up with former fashion director at Costume, stylist Anne Stockmann and global trend forecaster WGSN.

In line with the work and vision to brand and promote CPH Vision and Terminal-2 separately comes the decision to introduce a completely new set-up for Copenhagen Fashion Fairs. As Copenhagen Fashion Fairs only launched Terminal-2 a year ago, it seemed natural to keep the new fair under the wing of CPH Vision. But in less than one year the success of Terminal-2 has surpassed all expectation and has managed to stand on its own feet and gain recognition in Denmark and internationally.

“We felt a need to split the show into two separate events. Showcasing designers from both CPH Vision and Terminal-2 under the name of CPH Vision Press Show was somehow misleading and we simply felt that Terminal-2 deserved a show of its own. The fairs have two completely different identities and a sharp differentiation of the two segments was definitely needed.” Jesper Emil – Show & Event Manager – Copenhagen Fashion Fairs

The Terminal-2 debut show takes place on Thursday 11 February at 10 am and the venue is the fair itself.

“I’m happy to be on board and as we present the trends for AW/2010, ambitions are set high. We’re looking to do something out of the ordinary, to create an alternative that might not be what you expect of a traditional catwalk show. But as always, it’s all about the teamwork and about attention to detail in everything from the styling to the models and the atmosphere. Styling a trade show is definitely a much greater challenge, but at the same time you’re presented with endless possibilities as your range is broader and you are not limited to one collection only.” Simon Rasmussen, stylist

Simon Rasmussen contributes regularly to publications such as Costume, Dansk, Cover, Tush and Qvest and his work was recently featured in L’Uomo Vogue. Last year, Simon won the prestigious Dansk Fashion Award for Stylist of the Year. At the Terminal-2 show this February, Simon brings his City Hunters, Ghetto Sailors and Front Row Gypsies to the catwalk.

CPH Vision press show held at the spectacular Copenhagen Opera House
As the only show during fashion week, the CPH Vision Press Show has exclusive rights to the amazing Copenhagen Opera House where the event will be held on Wednesday 10 February at 6 pm for a selected crowd of Danish and international press and celebrities. It will be a very special show – for the first time focusing solely on women’s brands.

On board to style the show is stylist Anne Stockmann who in partnership with global trend forecasting agency WGSN will interpret key trends for AW/2010.

“Having the Opera House as a backdrop was just wonderful all in itself. For this set-up, we envisioned quite minimalistic and clean-cut styling, permitting the clothing, the surroundings and the atmosphere to take centre stage. I am excited to work with a mix of both established and new brands. I am especially keen on working with up-and-coming designers who are usually really good at adding that extra edge and daring to think out of the box – I think that needs to be acknowledged. I therefore believe that it is of greatest importance to keep a balance and go easy on the styling and let these wonderful creations speak for themselves.” Anne Stockmann, stylist
