In a horrendous act of barbarism, a pregnant Muslim woman and her two sisters were allegedly stripped and tortured inside a police station in Assam’s Darrang district. A policeman kicked the pregnant woman in her stomach and she started bleeding profusely, leading to the death of her unborn child.

The incident took place on September 8 but came to light on September 17.

A report by India Today said that the pregnant woman was admitted to a hospital where she lost her baby due to miscarriage.

“Darrang district police picked up three sisters – Minuwara Begum, Sanuwara and Rumela from Sixmile area in Guwahati on September 8 night in connection with a kidnapping case and took them to Burha police outpost,” reported India Today.
