India Suffered A Loss Of $79.5 Billion Due To Climate-Related Disasters In Last 20 Years

A drastic change in climatic conditions is leading to more than just loss of human lives. A UN report released on Wednesday has revealed that India has lost $79.5 billion to climate-related disasters in the last 20 years.

The decision comes after the United Nations Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on Monday raised an alarm to keep the carbon-dioxide emissions in check and limit global temperatures at 1.5 degree Celsius, reported Live Mint.

Economic Losses, Poverty and Disasters 1998-2017 report released by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction in Geneva discovered that at least 91 per cent of the disasters that occurred between 1998 and 2017 were climate-related.Click Here: brisbane lions guernsey 2019
