October is a time of merrymaking when people across India celebrate ‘Navratri’ or nine nights, ‘Dusshera’ or the triumph of good over evil, ‘Durga Puja’ that worships nine forms of Goddess Durga with different folk songs and dance forms.
In Gujarat, locals indulge in revelries by dancing to drum beats. Folk dances like ‘Dandiya’ and ‘Garba Raas’ are performed as women dress up in bright attires amid a vibrant setting. In Piparia village which is 17 km away from Vadodara, citizens were enjoying the festivities when they found an unusual spectator.
