The Supreme Court has ruled that Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi cannot act independently and can’t obstruct the elected government’s policy decisions.

The verdict of the SC ‘s five-judge Constitution bench comprised chief justice Dipak Misra and Justices A K Sikri, A M Khanwilkar, D Y Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan comes as a major relief to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government which has been long accusing the LG Anil Baijal of obstructing its policies.
