India’s Multidimensional Poverty (MDP) has significantly dropped. India now ranks 26 which is a huge improvement from its earlier position at 54 among 102 developing countries.
Between 2005-06 to 2015-16, the poverty level came down from 55% to 21%, improving the country’s MDP ranking of India which, is an international measure of acute poverty is calculated based on three key categories- health, education and living standards.
