Billionaire's Row Hotel Debuts $50K-Per-Night Suite

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A hotel that shares a tower with one of the glitziest condos on Manhattan’s Billionaire’s Row is offering a new suite that charges more per night that many New Yorkers make in a year.

The Park Hyatt New York’s opened its new “Manhattan Sky Suite” — a converted three-bedroom apartment at the One57 development at 157 West 57th Street — in an effort to appeal to the “discerning” tastes of the uber-rich at a rate of $50,000 per night, the hotel company announced. The room, located on One57’s 59th floor, is being billed as the highest suite in Manhattan with direct views of Central Park.

“New York City hotels are renowned for their specialty suites, but nothing in the city measures up to this new suite’s overwhelming sense of luxury and unparalleled views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline,” Peter Roth, a Park Hyatt New York executive, said in a statement

The 4,200-square-foot suite features thee bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, a dining room with a table for 10, a kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and a private elevator. Guests staying in the room also have access to amenities such as a personal chef for the duration of the stay, butler service, a styled wardrobe and helicopter flights to and from the airport.

A week-long stay at the Manhattan Sky Suite — the minimum length offered — will put a guest back $350,000.

The Park Hyatt New York signed a one-year lease with Extell Development to convert the One57 condo into a suite with an option to extend the lease, the Wall Street Journal first reported. Developers and the hotel saw the arrangement as mutually beneficial, with 15% of the condo tower still unsold and hotels attempting to jump into the ultra-luxury market, according to the report. Extell even hopes that some guests who stay in the $50,000-per-night room may enjoy One57 so much that they put down a few million on a condo in the building, the firm told the Wall Street Journal.
