Batista made a surprise appearance on Raw last night when he attacked Ric Flair before the Hall of Famer could come down to the ring for his 70th birthday party. It appears that Batista could be coming back to wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania 35, but over the past few years, “The Animal” has stepped away from the ring to focus on his acting career. During an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, Batista talked about what separates himself from other wrestling actors like John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Batista talked about wanting to be compared to those two in particular because he wants to star in different types of movies. Batista even said that he does not consider The Rock to be a “great actor,” and that he personally wants to take on much more ambitious film projects as her career continues
“I want good roles. I don’t care about “Fast & Furious” or “Bumblebee. … That’s not the kind of stardom I want … I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve. I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education.” Batista said.
These days, David Otunga can be seen during the Kickoff show panels before each WWE pay-per-view. However, there was a brief time when he worked as a commentator during the early days of the current brand split on SmackDown. While speaking with Chris Van Vilet recently, Otunga revealed that Kevin Owens was not too big a fan of his work as an announcer. Otunga says that he once made a crack regarding Owens’ weight which caused the former Universal Champion to be legitimately upset with him. Otunga later said that he likes Kevin Owens despite making the joke and hopes that the two of them have reconciled. For those interested in seeing it, the full interview with David Otunga has been posted down below:
