Kurt Angle to have farewell match at WWE WrestleMania 35

Kurt Angle is set to have his farewell match at WrestleMania 35.

Angle came out during Raw tonight and said at WrestleMania, he would have his farewell match. He thanked the locker room and the fans for their support. He also said that he wanted to have one more match in Pittsburgh. He got that wish, as he defeated Apollo Crews in a short match after the announcement.

Angle first joined the WWE in 1999 after winning the gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. After spending some time in Power Pro Wrestling, he made his debut later that year on the main roster. Within a year he became a main event level star, winning six different WWE World titles between 2000 and 2006.

After a lengthy run in Impact Wrestling (where he won their World title six times), Angle made his return to WWE in 2017, entering their Hall of Fame. He also returned as a on-air character as the general manager for Raw. Once that storyline ended, he appeared sporadically as an active wrestler.
