Shawn Michaels teaching class at WWE Performance Center

Trainees at WWE’s Performance Center will be learning from one of the most accomplished in-ring performers in professional wrestling history.

Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Shawn Michaels recently began teaching a class at the Performance Center, taking over for Terry Taylor who is out after having neck surgery. The length of Michaels’ stay hasn’t been confirmed, but he moved his family from Texas to Florida for the role within the company.

Michaels has previously been involved in training wrestlers, operating the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy that notably produced Daniel Bryan and Brian Kendrick.

Michaels retired as an active performer in 2010, concluding his Hall of Fame career in a loss to the Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. He has maintained a role with the company since and has made sporadic appearances on television. He most recently appeared at WrestleMania 32, where he banded together with Steve Austin and Mick Foley in a physical confrontation with the League of Nations.
