New Japan Pro Wrestling will be holding it’s next Road to Power Struggle event in what will be Monday Morning, Eastern Time for us on the East Coast of the United States. Two of the matches being featured on this show is the semifinals of the 2017 Super Junior Tag Team Tournament. The two matches will be:
Roppongi 3K (Sho & Yoh) (The Tempura Boys back from their excursion in the United States) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI)
Suzuki-gun (El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) vs. Ryusuke Taguchi & ACH.
The later match has a running joke of Suzuki Gun member Taichi trying to stick his trademark mic and stand up the bottom of Taguchi as retaliation for his butt based “Funky Weapon” butt strike he uses as a finisher.
It is being assumed that the winning team of this tournament will challenge for the Junior Tag Team Titles at WrestleKingdom 12 in January, but it is not certain yet.
Oddly New Japan has not announced any other matches for the show on their website so it will be interesting what fills out the rest of the show. With it being a build up show to the Power Struggle event, it would be expected the other matches on this card would build up to that card which is being held on November 5th. The final match for the 2017 Super Junior Tag Team Tournament will be held that night.
As for this one, it is a bit of a mystery.
