St. Cloud State University sophomore Caleb White will travel to Santiago, Chile to compete at the Pan-American Olympic Wrestling Championships (freestyle and Greco-Roman) on July 12-14. This international tournament is sanctioned by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles and hosted by the Chilean National Sport Federation of Olympic Wrestling.
White qualified for the tournament on the strength of his performance at the 2013 FILA Junior U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nev. during the month of April. White earned All-America status in both the freestyle and Greco-Roman brackets and finished fourth at the Las Vegas tournament in the Greco-Roman competition.
A 2011 graduate of Tri-Center High School and resident of Neola, Iowa, White completed his second season with the Huskies in 2012-13. He charted a 12-6 overall record for the Huskies at 285-pounds this winter, which included tournament championships at the Cobber Open and the RCC Open.
