State champions Darick Vancura of Jackson County Central and Adam Cooling of Madelia/Truman/Martin Luther and state placer Tanner Mills of Saint Michael-Albertville have chosen to wrestle for Minnesota State University, Mankato following their upcoming senior seasons.
Vancura is a three-time state placewinner. He won the 160 pound Class A state championship as a junior. He placed second at 145 pounds as a sophomore and third at 130 pounds as a freshman. Vancura is projected to wrestle at 174 pounds in college.
Cooling is a two-time state placewinner. He won the 145 pound Class A state championship as a junior and placed fourth at 140 pounds as a sophomore. Cooling is projected to wrestle at 160 pounds in college.
Mills is a three-time state entrant placing third at 120 pounds in Class A (for Kimball Area) as a junior. He is projected to wrestle at 133 pounds in college.
