Conway, Scarborough spar over claim she's trying to 'intimidate' Trump

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Sunday said Rudy Giuliani and Kellyanne Conway are showing an “embarrassing” lack of discretion in attempting to pressure Donald Trump, prompting Conway to fire back at the MSNBC host and defend her loyalty to the president-elect.

“Giuliani and Conway are trying to intimidate the President Elect,” Scarborough tweeted on Sunday, regarding Trump’s possible Cabinet nominees.

“How weak do they think he is? Their lack of discretion is embarrassing.”

Scarborough, who feuded with the president-elect during his campaign, said the former New York City mayor has told the world “what position he will and will not accept from Trump.” He also said Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, has attacked the president-elect’s “choices in public.” “Wow,” he tweeted.

Scarborough said leaders from around the world will now be watching “to see if a President TrumpDonald John TrumpSenate advances public lands bill in late-night vote Warren, Democrats urge Trump to back down from veto threat over changing Confederate-named bases Esper orders ‘After Action Review’ of National Guard’s role in protests MORE can be bullied by his staff.”

“How sad and pathetic if he can,” Scarborough tweeted.

Conway shot back at Scarborough on Sunday afternoon, telling the MSNBC host on Twitter that he knows better than to make such insinuations.

“And so does @PEOTUS. He has my respect, loyalty, service & private counsel BC he is brilliant, strong, resolute,” she tweeted.

“repeating 100th time decision is his & I’ll respect it. Whatever your feud w/ Rudy, no need to lump us. I already have the job I want.”

Giuliani is reportedly under consideration to serve as secretary of State in Trump’s administration. The former New York City mayor is publicly lobbying for the position.

Conway on Sunday blasted Mitt Romney, also under consideration to serve as secretary of State, and questioned whether he would be loyal in the position.

“I’m all for party unity, but I’m not sure we have to pay for that with the secretary of State position,” Conway said on CNN. Former House Speaker and Trump adviser Newt Gingrich also spoke against Romney on Sunday.
