Matt Riddle Reveals Factor That Played Big Part In His Decision To Sign With WWE (Video)

Prior to his NXT Championship showdown with Adam Cole on the first full, two-hour broadcast of NXT On USA Network, Matt Riddle spoke with Brian Fritz of Between The Ropes for a one-on-one interview at the WWE Performance Center.

During the discussion, “The King of Bros” touched on the usual topics — working in his bare feet, his desire to face Brock Lesnar and/or Bill Goldberg and why he ultimately decided to join WWE via the black-and-gold brand in the Orlando, Florida-based NXT.

Regarding his decision to join the movement in NXT, Riddle noted that the fact that the promotion is based out of Orlando, close to his family, played a big factor.

“I wanted to be around my family more,” Riddle told Fritz prior to Wednesday night’s two-hour NXT On USA show from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. “Even though I’m working probably way more than I thought I would with doing TV.”

Riddle continued, “I knew with the indie schedule plus the travel to Japan and other places, I would just be gone nonstop. And, yeah, I just wanted to be around more and have more security.”
