As reported by Foot Mercato, Fulham have offered €17.5m for former Toulouse defender Issa Diop but the player’s club, West Ham United, have rejected the bid and are waiting for a new offer of at least €21m in total to allow the centre-back to leave the club.
The French defender had seen his path out of the London club blocked by coach David Moyes in recent times, who, despite listing the centre-back his fifth choice for the coming season, wanted him to stay put following an injury to new signing Nayef Aguerd from Rennes. However, as was reported earlier in the day, Moyes has now acquiesced to player’s demands and will allow him to move clubs.
Even so, West Ham are demanding €15m plus €6m across three separate bonuses for the player, say the outlet, but newly-promoted Fulham have only offered a total of €17.5m for the defender who has also been of interest to Lyon this summer transfer window.
