According to RMC Sport there has been no set date yet for a return to action for Paris Saint-Germain’s players who have been playing at the World Cup, including Lionel Messi who returned to Argentina to celebrate the country’s third world title.
Decisions will reportedly be made on a case-by-case basis on each returning player which will vary based upon the need to rest shorter or longer times, the time taken to return to Paris from their home countries, as well as time spent seeing families and a player’s general moral.
One player that has already returned to work with Paris Saint-Germain early is France striker Kylian Mbappé, who returned to training at the Camp des Loges this Wednesday morning – only three days following the end of the World Cup final on Sunday which went to extra-time and penalties following a dramatic 3-3 draw.
Mbappé’s return shows a willingness to put behind him France’s defeat, but also sends a strong message to other returning PSG squad members – as the focus re-switches back to Ligue 1 and the Champions League for the Parisian side.
