Speaking to the press after Paris Saint-Germain’s win over Lorient this afternoon, Christophe Galtier dismissed the possibility of a serious injury for Kylian Mbappé, with the forward being substituted with five minutes to go and heading straight to the dressing room accompanied by the team doctor.
His words transcribed in L’Équipe, Galtier nevertheless explained that the Frenchman was simply suffering from muscle fatigue “all over“, with no specific area of his body being affected in particular. He adds that Mbappé had also come off in the midweek match against Juventus for a similar reason, and that there is no reason for concern.
As a result, the French international is expected to take part in PSG’s final match before the World Cup break, at the Parc des Princes against Auxerre. Didier Deschamps will unveil his squad list for the World Cup on Wednesday evening, and France fans will be hoping the news on Mbappé’s fitness stays positive before the team fly out to Qatar.
