RMC and Le Journal du Dimanche report that former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Aminata Diallo has been arrested this morning and once again taken into police custody.
RMC explain that Diallo has been taken into custody for the second time regarding the investigation into the attack on Kheira Hamraoui which took place last November, after which Diallo was questioned for 40 hours before being released on no charges.
The possibility of the attack being the result of a rivalry between the two players has now been placed back at the heart of the investigation, although police are looking to find out whether the attack could have been ordered due to sporting or personal reasons. Previously, a potential track involving an extra-marital affair was being considered but has since been discarded.
In the last 10 months, investigators have been able to identify several men who allegedly directly took part in the attack. According to RMC four suspects have been in custody since Wednesday and three have recognised that they were at the scene of the alleged events. They are set to be presented to an examining judge today.
The events took place on November 4 of last year, after a dinner among the PSG team which Diallo was driving Hamraoui and Sakina Karchaoui back from. After the latter was dropped off, Diallo and Hamraoui saw two masked men emerge and drag out Hamraoui, who was hit on the legs while Diallo was held back and also hit.
