TF1 claim this evening that Arsenal have in recent hours submitted an €80m bid for Ivorian attacker and Lille player Nicolas Pépé.
Les Dogues are understood to have made signs to the Gunners of recognising their proposal, as AFC allegedly join a long list of clubs to have concretely positioned themselves for the former Angers man which, per L’Équipe and RMC combined, includes Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, PSG, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
TF1 understand that other European clubs will likely make offers in the coming days.
The player has just left Egypt after Ivory Coast were knocked out of AFCON by Algeria earlier this week and is yet to take a decision on his future.
TF1 claim that the player’s priority destination remains PSG, if they rid of Neymar, but nothing is decided.
Le Parisien have poured cold water today on the viability of a PSG x Pépé transfer, with a Lille source telling the outlet, regardless of whether or not Neymar leaves the capital club this summer:
“I think there is 0 chance of it happening.”
Yesterday, Pépé’s agent Samir Khiat, suggested that PSG was a possible destination and confirmed contacts with Italian clubs for his client.
