L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg have decided that they would like to take up a fairly cheap option on Sunderland central defender Lamine Koné following a successful season-long loan.

The 30-year-old central defender appears to be prepared to make an effort in terms of dropping his salary demands in order to get a deal done, but that really is going to be the sticking point in whether or not this gets over the line.

32-year-old midfielder Jérémy Grimm’s current deal is due to expire next month, but he appears set to accept an extension offer of an additional 12 months.
