Rusev in Saudi Arabia, Ohno EVOLVE Return, NXT Debut for Martinez

Fans may remember that SmackDown Superstar competed at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. “The Bulgarian Brute” lost a Casket Match to The Undertaker during the event. WWE will be returning to Saudi Arabia tomorrow for their Crown Jewel event, but Rusev is not scheduled to wrestle on the show. However, it now appears that the former United States Champion may be appearing on the show after all. PWInsider has just reported earlier today that Rusev was brought in to Saudi Arabia with the rest of the roster members who will be competing on tomorrow’s show. No word on what Rusev will be doing at Crown Jewel, but fans should keep their eyes open for him during the event.
WWE and EVOLVE Wrestling have had a working relationship for a number of years now, but the two promotions are more allied than ever before. Only one week ago, NXT Superstars The Street Profits were able to capture the EVOLVE Tag Team Championships while fellow NXT Superstar, Fabian Aichner, secured the promotion’s world title. Another NXT Superstar, Kassius Ohno, has just been announced for future EVOLVE shows as well. Ohno returns to the promotion to take on Aichner at EVOLVE 115 on November 9th before later competing against Shane Strickland at EVOLVE 116 on November 10th. Fans can look foward to seeing the in-ring veteran back in EVOLVE Wrestling later on this month.

Punishment Martinez had been wrestling for Ring of Honor for a number of years, but when he lost the TV title and announced his departure from the promotion a few weeks back, rumors suggesting that he would be joining WWE quickly began to surface. WWE officially confirmed that Martinez had signed an NXT deal recently and that he has already reported to the WWE Performance Center. Martinez will now be making his official in-ring debut for WWE in just a couple of days. Punishment Martinez announced on his Twitter account earlier this week that he will be competing in a WWE ring for the very first time during an NXT live event in Ft. Pierce, Florida tomorrow night. There is no word on his opponent just yet.
