MINNEAPOLIS — The movie Foxcatcher has finally arrived in the Twin Cities. It will be released in local theaters on Wednesday, November 26. The film tells the real-life story of Olympic wrestlers Mark and Dave Schultz and their relationship with eccentric millionaire, John du Pont, that led to the tragic murder of Dave Schultz in January 1996.

The film was originally scheduled for release in December 2013. Oscar buzz surrounding the film may have contributed to its release being postponed until now. Sony Pictures has said the delay was so they “can have more time to finish the film.” Whatever the reason, people in the wrestling community who knew Dave Schultz hope the film captures the essence of what made him such a beloved friend and competitor.
