Updates on Daniel Bryan, Greatest Royal Rumble, & Batista Return

Daniel Bryan is very much still interested in wrestling again despite not being cleared to compete by WWE doctors. Bryan has said before that he will likely be leaving WWE to continue wrestling elsewhere if he is not cleared by WWE doctors by WrestleMania. Bryan’s contract with WWE is said to be getting closer and closer to expiring with PWInsider reporting that it will expire in September. While most WWE talents have to wait out a 90-day no-compete clause after leaving the company, that rule may not apply to Daniel Bryan. According to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Bryan will be able to compete wherever he wants immediately since he does not have a no-compete clause in his contract.

Yes if he does decide to leave when his contract expires there would not be a non-compete period https://t.co/DsPucPMvpV

It was recently announced that WWE will be producing more shows and content from the Middle East over the next few years. One event that was recently confirmed was the Greatest Royal Rumble show, which will see the first-ever 50-man Royal Rumble match take place in the King Abdullah Indoor Sports Stadium in Saudi Arabia on April 27th. It was not originally confirmed to be airing on the WWE Network, but Roman Reigns recently confirmed that the show will indeed be broadcasted on the network after all. During an appearance on Jim Norton and Sam Roberts’ show on Sirius XM, Reigns discussed the event by stating, “I believe it’s going to be a huge network special.”

Former WWE Superstar Batista has not competed in the ring at all since 2014, but that has not stopped “The Animal” from discussing how eager he is to return to the ring. Batista has stated in the past that he wants to return to the company and face Triple H at WrestleMania to end his wrestling career. While speaking with Grplgme, Batista said that he has been very vocal to WWE about wanting to return and he believes that his career has not come to an end just yet. He blamed his lack of a return on a “schedule issue and also a creative issue.” Batista has kept himself busy with his acting career in recent years and he is set to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie on April 27th.
