WWE Reportedly Using Rousey To Help Make McMahon A Bigger Star

One of the biggest names and signees in WWE history is none other that MMA Star Ronda Rousey. Ever since she made her debut at the conclusion of the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match, she has been the talk not only of the wrestling world, but of the entire world. She has been making such a huge impact despite not having wrestled even a single match and the WWE has huge plans for her once she wraps up the filming of her latest movie.
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks like the WWE may have other plans as well for signing Ronda Rousey. Dave Meltzer reports that the WWE may be using Ronda Rousey to help make Stephanie McMahon a bigger star outside of the WWE. It was noted that one of the more significant reasons WWE hired Rousey was to help boost Stephanie’s mainstream status and that the questions surrounding her financial value to the company are secondary.
One way of boosting Stephanie’s image is the super high-profile match at WrestleMania 34 in which Ronda Rousey and an unknown male Superstar, rumored to be The Rock or RAW GM & WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is rumored to be facing Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. It was also noted that while Stephanie is a big name in wrestling, she’s not a mainstream star. It is being said that one of the keys in bringing Rousey in goes back to what made Vince McMahon a star which is the program he had with WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin and what made Stone Cold a big mainstream star is the feud he had with “Iron” Mike Tyson.

While it was believed that Rousey’s Royal Rumble handshake with Stephanie was to squash their beef, the idea for their feud is to make Stephanie a star outside of the pro wrestling world.
